Intervention

Alma means Soul. The Soul is considered to be the ground of desires, emotions and cognition, according to Plato. We will cooperate in order to take care of all three parts of the Soul.

The intervention used is the Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy, a short term therapy which aims to support you identify, elaborate and reshape the thoughts and feelings that lead you to maladaptive behaviors and desires. With empathy and acceptance, we move collaboratively to the elimination of the dysfunctional behaviors and the achievement of a better you.

The Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy is based on the cognitive model which explains that the way we perceive a situation is rather based on the way we think about it, rather than the situation itself.

The main purpose of the Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy is to change the way that the patient thinks and behaves. The way which prevents him or her from being happy and highly functional. Trust, empathy and cooperation are the main substances needed to achieve it.

Different formulation is being used according to the type of the disorder or difficulty. The most important parts of this formulation come to a strong therapeutic relationship, a proper target setting according to the patient’s needs, the planning treatment and the intervention selection. The person is trained on the way to identify the dysfunctional thoughts and obtains a more accurate perspective, supported to examine the validity and usefulness of his/ her thoughts.

Based on clinical research, Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy seems to be highly effective in different disorders. Unlike other psychotherapy forms, it is focused on the present issue and its solving. The duration of the intervention is time sensitive. During the sessions, the patient is being trained in many different techniques that will be available for use during his/ her lifetime. Those competencies are related to identifying misinterpreted thoughts and processing them, behavior and beliefs modification as well as functional relationship building.
